An Interactive Art Project: Help Create a Giant Pacific Eco Octopus with Nickie Lewis
August 3 - August 4
11 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Sunday, August 3: 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday, August 4: 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: patio beside the Ferry Building Gallery
Join eco-artist Nickie Lewis of the Wizard’s Makery on the patio beside the Ferry Building Gallery as she brings to life a giant Pacific octopus, crafted entirely from 100% biodegradable, natural materials.
Drop by to witness the creation of this stunning eco-sculpture and lend a hand in its construction. This is a unique opportunity to connect with nature, art, and community while learning about sustainable creativity and marine life.
This temporary public art project invites the community to witness and participate in the creative process. Through hands-on activity, the project aims to encourage creative community engagement, deepen our sense of place and connection to nature, demonstrate the use of sustainable materials, and raise awareness about the threats facing our ocean’s native species.
Once completed, the sculpture will remain on display on the patio until it naturally begins to decompose, at which point it will be respectfully removed and returned to the earth.
No registration required.
Generously supported by the District of West Vancouver’s Temporary Public Art fund.
